Hatzic Lake Management Plan

Client: Fraser Valley Regional District

Services Provided: Clear Course was retained by the Fraser Valley Regional District to facilitate community engagement and develop a comprehensive lake management plan to address social, environmental, and jurisdictional issues at Hatzic Lake.

The project was funded through the BC Ministry of Forest, Lands, Natural Resource Operations, and Rural Development (FLNRORD). The working group leading the project included three First Nations, multiple regional district areas, several provincial agencies (including FLNRORD and Fisheries and Oceans Canada), Dewdney Area Improvement District, Fraser Health Authority, and local community groups.

Through engagement, Clear Course connected with more than 700 residents and produced an actionable plan intended to lake management over the next decade.

Outcome: In November 202, Clear Course finalized the Hatzic Lake Management Plan.
