Holly Chubb

Holly Chubb, Project Lead

Over her academic career, Holly has led diverse, award-winning research projects in Svalbard, Chile, and Canada, receiving full funding from several prestigious granting bodies. With a Bachelor of Physical Geography and a Master of Philosophy, Holly has developed strong research and communication skills and can translate complex ideas and topics into concise, coherent grant applications. Alongside her studies, Holly has more than six years of experience in recruitment and employability services.

Holly recently completed her PhD—on the impacts of Climate Change on Catastrophic Mass Movements in High Mountain regions—at Newcastle University (UK) and the University of British Columbia. She has developed expertise in glacial, fluvial, and mass movement processes and the influence of climate change on both physical landscape systems and surrounding communities. Through her PhD, Holly has in-depth knowledge of the 2010 Qw’elqw’elústen (Mount Meager) and 2019 N'skenú7 (Joffre Peak) landslide events in BC. Her current work focuses on Braided Knowledge Systems and community hazard resilience.
