Revelstoke Heat Emergency Response Plan

Client: City of Revelstoke

Services Provided: In 2022, the City of Revelstoke received funding from the Union of BC Municipalities to develop a heat emergency response plan. The city hired Clear Course to design a community survey, conduct extensive research on community heat planning in Canada, and write and design a plan to guide the city’s communications and resources in an extreme heat event.

The plan included a Heat Alert & Response (HARS) tailored to reflect the city’s limited resources and the needs of its residents, especially the community’s heat-vulnerable populations. The plan also includes a comprehensive list of 32 recommendations to help guide the city toward strengthening its extreme heat planning, preparedness, and response.

Outcome: Revelstoke Heat Emergency Response Plan
