Client: Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Lil̓wat7úl Cultural Centre

The SLCC is a globally recognized Indigenous organization built in 2008 to preserve, protect, and exhibit the culture, artifacts, and natural history of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and Líl̓wat Nation. The museum has three gallery spaces, a theatre, a longhouse, an istken (pit house), a restaurant, and a gift shop. Daily tours are delivered by Indigenous Ambassadors who share cultural knowledge about the Nations and the history and significance of the unceded Territory in the resort destination setting of Whistler, BC.

Services Provided: Clear Course has worked closely with the SLCC since 2019, supporting the organization with the following: project development; project scoping; grant scans; grant writing, tracking, and reporting; and project management. Our work with the SLCC has been tailored to the needs of each project, ranging from small and singular grant proposals to complex multi-year million-dollar grant strategies for operations, capital infrastructure, and museum programming.

"Working with the team at Clear Course over the past several years has been instrumental to the organizational health of the SLCC. Time and time again, they skillfully listen to our needs and translate them into successful grant applications and associated projects across all areas of our organization, from cultural revitalization and capacity building, all the way to big infrastructure projects. They listen, learn and act, working alongside us so we can achieve our goals" ~ Heather Paul, Former Executive Director
